Donald Perruso sentenced to four to eight years in state prison for a string of burglaries, thefts and a chase with police.Donald Perruso prior to his arraignment last June before District Judge Ralph Litzenberger.Perruso, son of Wilson Mayor David Perruso, has battled heroin addiction since he was a teenager and was on a heroin-fueled binge last summer when he committed the crimes over a roughly two-week period, defense attorney Chris Shipman said.
"You were on a bender, on a spree and you have an extensive prison record," McFadden said before sentencing Perruso.
She also ordered he pay more than $6,000 in restitution for two burglaries and a theft and fined him more than $4,200. Shipman asked that the judge send Perruso to prison as quickly as possible to begin drug treatment
