Cocaine discovered inside a consignment of footballs.
Cocaine with a potential value of up to £120,000 has been discovered inside a consignment of footballs. One hundred packets of the drug were found sewn into the lining of five balls from Brazil by customs officers at East Midlands Airport. A total of 650g was recovered and officers said a basic street value of £40,000 could be trebled if it was mixed with other substances. No arrests have been made and investigations continue. The consignment arrived on Monday and was destined for an address in the London area.
