Joseph Bennett was arrested Friday evening at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron.
Joseph Bennett of Scarborough, Ontario, was arrested Friday evening at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron. Authorities say Bennett's truck was selected for a random search and a canine team uncovered a stash of pills behind the dashboard. A total of 58 bags containing more than 275,000 pills of Ecstasy were found. A Customs and Border Protection spokesman says the haul's street value is $6.5 million or more. A message seeking comment was left for Andrew Wise, who represented Bennett at a detention hearing Monday in U.S. District Court in Detroit. A preliminary examination is scheduled for Aug. 22.
