Mark Anthony Eggerson

Mark Anthony Eggerson , 23, of Utica, Minn., was booked into Winona County Jail on Friday after police allege he sold cocaine in a controlled buy. Prior to that, he’d been there for a litany of charges, including drunken driving and selling cocaine .
Eggerson was charged Monday with four felonies that allege he sold cocaine to a police informant on four occasions in the past three months. The most serious of those charges carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison and a $500,000 fine. He was also charged with a lesser felony possession charge and obstructing the legal process by resisting an officer.
According to police and court documents, police arrested Eggerson on Friday afternoon immediately following a controlled buy in the parking lot of a restaurant on Center Street. At about 1:15 p.m., a Winona narcotics investigator stood inside the entrance of the restaurant overlooking the parking lot, where a police informant waited for Eggerson to sell her cocaine.Eggerson also sold 0.27 grams of crack cocaine to a police informant on Oct. 30. The transaction took place in a vacant apartment in the 600 block of East Fifth Street while a police officer hid in one of the apartment’s bedrooms. The apartment is located near the Hope Lutheran High School, which aggravates the charge.
On Nov. 19, an informant purchased 1.04 grams of crack-cocaine from Eggerson near another restaurant on Center Street. On Dec. 27, an informant bought 0.69 grams of cocaine in Eggerson’s driveway in Utica, court records allege
According to the criminal complaint, Eggerson was seen getting into the informant’s car, sold her 0.85 grams of cocaine for $100 and returned to the restaurant about two minutes later. When he opened the door, the investigator was waiting:
